Hi, I'd like to implement print accounting on my network, and was hoping to solicit opinions from others on the list as to what packages people are using for this, and how they find them.
I've looked (briefly) into the standard lprng accounting, which seems to just do page counts, and at printbill, which can be found at:- http://ieee.uow.edu.au/~daniel/software/printbill/ The latter seems to do more detailed accounting - actually dealing with toner coverage on a page, but has a somewhat more complex set up and higher overhead. Also, I'm not looking to quota people (yet), just to account for the paper/toner they use, and be able to get a comprehensive report on who has used what, so our accounting department can berate them. Does anyone have any experiences, positive or negative, that they want to relate, or any suggestions as to the best way to go about this? TIA, Mike. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST The address you post from MUST be your subscription address If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body.
