I have over 80 HP large format printers (plotters) that we use to plot over 500 plots a day. We have HP1055's, HP500's, HP800's and HP5000's. The HP1055's are the fastest, but all are used extensively, about 1/3 via direct and 2/3 via our Zeh plot server for preprocessing. We use LPRng on a Sun V880 with 4 CPU's and 8GB of memory. The LPRng has proven more stable with less "problems" than the Sun LP system.

I have a terrible HP 2500CM that I am going to replace, but I don't trust the HP inkjets because of it. Are my fears unfounded? ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | | Ryan Novosielski - Jr. UNIX Systems Admin |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| | [EMAIL PROTECTED] - 973/972.0922 |(2-0922) \__/ Univ. of Med. and Dent. | IST/ACS - NJMS Medical Science Bldg - C630 On Tue, 10 Jun 2003, Ryan Novosielski wrote: > See, the trouble is, the product lines don't sit still! :) > > At any rate, I'm in the market for all new printers.
