Hi,

The HP2500cm printers can be very painful, their PostScript processing
power is somewhat lacking and if any code is sent to the printer that it
doesn't like, it usually just powers off!

In the end however, we found that printing jobs in PCL is considerably
faster and setting the pjl_only option in ifhp.conf to pjl_only=[ ] i.e.
empty, makes the printer a lot more reliable! (And of course, an 'of'
filter will mess it up aswell!)

An alternative to this printer is the HP2280, we have several of these
and there are a massive improvement. No pagecounts, but PostScript is
printed with very little delay, and almost at the speed of a laser
printer. .. We use the A4 version, there is probably also an A3 version
available.

Cheers,

sam
