Our students have a bad habit of changing the printer settings from the printer's control panel rather than specify the options they want from the command line.
The number one issue is simplex printing. I have figured out if I set prefix_z=duplex in the printcap entry, their job will still be printed in duplex unless they specifically type "lpr -Zsimplex". Perfect. Occasionally we have students who change the number of copies from the control panel to something other than 1. Is there something similar to the prefix_z=duplex that I can use to force the printing of one copy unless they specify the correct command-line options?
