In public environments most printer support/supply companies, like Xerox
Partner, can fit your printers with a metallic shield on top of all
buttons, including power button to stop students from doing things.

Then you also mount alarm sensor inside the printer that will sound the
alarm and alart campus security when a prohibited part (parts that you
open with a screw driver) of the printer is opened.
