perhaps somebody from hp is on this list and can persuade the
ps programmers to release a X11 capable open source version.
This could be used for validating and would help HP to produce a better
tested product.

Yes, this is precisely the reason why we've bought a Xerox printer for
test purposes, to see if I can pin down problems to HPs PS emulation.
