I just cut over our old print server to a new print server using LPRng and have gotten some complaints about certain documents coming out wrong. As it turns out there are some printers that have specific menu settings (font size, landscape format, etc.) set on the printer itself. However, LPRng seems to be overriding these printer settings. I looked in the lpd.conf file and on this mailing list and cannot seem to find any specific setting that tells LPRng to override these settings. Does anyone know if such a setting exists?
