I have AIX 4.3 running SystemV print spooler. it's also a samba PDC server. users have to log in to print. now i just added a redhat linux running LPRng 3.8.19 which will do the accounting etc. so i need to forward the jobs that sent to AIX to the redhat. no problem there. but my question is: if there is error(user page quota,etc) while printing on the redhat, how do i redirect the error back to the samba server which will generate a popup window to the clients. clients will run windows98/XP pro mainly. i am new to printer admin. and doesn't know if this setup is fine for my situation, approx 100 pc, 3 hp printers(lj 2200,4000,4100 ). will this setup be problem for administration , efficient? many thanks!
