OK, we will get into the Heavy Duty Debugging:

a) edit the printcap file, and add the following entry:

  lp:
:db=lpr # turn on debugging for LPR commands
    :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp

b) do:
lpc reread # causes lpd to reread the printcap file
lpc stop lp # stop printing from the queue

Now send a print job to the queue and see what happens. You can
look in /var/spool/lpd/lp/log and see the debugging information.

Tell me what the results are.
