As one would expect from a co-author, I also support adoption. The primary
reasons to use an infinite link metric are:
1. It is consistent with the infinite metric usage for prefixes.
2. Usage of an infinite metric in Router-LSAs, provides a solution which
doesn’t require accessing
the OSPF Opaque Extended Link Attribute TLV for the base topology SPF.
3. Implementation simplicity (#2) will facilitate adoption.
