Hi Bruno, I also want correctness and I’m fine with your definition of MUST. The issue with current text in -05 is that everyone can do MUST and MUST NOT and things may not work. e.g., one node is allowed to send MP-TLV for TLV 22 whatever is configured by the network operator. If other nodes do not support MP-TLV for TLV 22, things will not work. How do you propose to make this work? Please see section 7. It is both necessary and sufficient. I have read it. It says “Providing appropriate controls to enable/disable the sending of MP-TLVs as discussed in Section 7.1<https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-lsr-multi-tlv#Controls> is essential to avoid interoperability issues.” [cid:[email protected]] https://www.oed.com/search/dictionary/?scope=Entries&q=essential This seems to match the “absolute requirement” of RFC2119.
