Milestone schedule, cost estimates - see document-1560 in the archive. Reminder that tagged values for estimates are due in the model by April 30, hardware/infrastructure estimates are due by May 7. For hardware estimates, get 2006 vendor quotes where possible, then extrapolate to 2010 costs based on technology trends in DOE R&D Proposal, DM Infrastructure Section (3.4.5?). If these trends are stale, we must get consensus in Technology Assessment Working Group and Jeff and Tim to change. Skunk works follow up - incorporating results into baseline UML model, next steps. Need to close on pipeline construction updates with Marcus. Can continue evals for pipeline glue middleware into May, but will have to baseline before SPIE so it can go into cost estimates. Michelle Miller checking into UCF availability. SDSC Involvement Based on past meetings, we want SDSC to focus on: * Long-term preservation e.g. Establish LSST as Strategic Scientific Database, create UML use cases for long-term storage, post-survey access, technology migration, disaster recovery * Community Data Access model distribution of data out from Archive Center to Data Access Centers and Tiered End User sites, coordinate with Data Access Working Group and NCSA to understand Archive Data organization and with Data Products Working Group to understand community access requirements Arun to keep Jeff Kantor and Don Dossa informed of activities _______________________________________________ LSST-data mailing list [email protected] http://www.lsstmail.org/mailman/listinfo/lsst-data
