Minutes for UA MOPS meeting, May 04, 2006.

(Sorry for the delay. I had forgotten to mail these out).

In attendance:
Tim Axelrod, Kobus Barnard, Alon Efrat, Bongki Moon, Scott Morris,
   Praveen Rao

Main points:

o For summer (starting May 16), the UA MOPS meeting will be held on Tuesdays
     at 10:00.

o The SPIE paper is done. Praveen Rao will represent us in Orlando.

o (Tim) LSST/PanSTARRS MOU is imminent

o We discussed preparing for the integration of our work in the PanSTARRS
framework. PanSTARRS is ahead of us on several areas of MOPS infrastructure
development, and is critical to not reinvent too much here. Where
extensions and modifications are needed, we need to work with PanSTARRS to
     the benefit of both projects.

o Praveen Rao and Bongki Moon will take the lead regarding understanding the
PanSTARRS MOPS system, and how our parts can be plug ins to it.

o We are eager to get more simulated data from the PanSTARRS simulator. Tim
suggested that it would hopefully be possible in July, given the pending
     MOU.

o Scott is close to providing what we need to finalize our approach for
characterizing the probability density of detection given linkages.

o Tim is keen on thinking about the issue of images in rapid succession
providing some information (i.e. trails). Since we are in a probabilistic
framework, principled information integration is easy.
