Agenda
Inter-group Topics (Telescope and Site, Camera, System Engineering)
Send All Hands Agenda Items suggestions to Jeff
Board Meeting Staying with plan of record on mirror (i.e. Monolithic M1/M3
cast at Steward Observatory Mirror Lab).
Cadence Simulator progress is good, still a bit short of mission
requirements.
CC - New weather files should make up the ground in simulator. Also, the
Calibration white paper indicates concept for Calibration Database,
containing information about fiducial stars (spectroscopy), 9 10k white
dwarfs (temp, gravity, fluxes (all bands), is probably not very large
relative to what we are scoping out, but should be included in our design.

Reference Design Reviews -
Schedule of Reviews (Sys Eng 8/15, Camera/Cal 8/17, T&S 8/21, DM 8/22)
Draft slideset/storyboard (#2082) posted prior to toady¹s meeting. Please
review and send comments to Jeff by COB Monday. Due to Jeff¹s need to
participate in the Sys Eng review on August 15, we are pushing the DM dry
run back to 8/16, at 2pm PDT. We will send out telephone/video contact
information.

Cost Estimates -
Thomas Frey will freeze and import again on Monday, 8/14.
Need to start working on estimates for Commissioning Phase, which according
to MREFC guidelines must be in proposal proper (not Operations Plan). We
will increase the proposal budget to cover this phase work.

DC1 -
Progress check on Stage 1 analysis Can run some tests, not all yet.
Seeing now 20MB/s, SDSC did re-compile with different settings, getting 70
MB/s. Ray comparing MCAT server configs, now issue points to Java
interface. If that is the problem, he can probably develop a work-around
using command line tools. Second contingency is to use GridFtp. Ultimately
will take DS to use SRB or Gridftp.

Stage 3 preparations Consumer integration is mostly done. Database Ingest
on TG is in work, will be done within 2 weeks. Biggest issue is data
transfer. Tim is working on WCS into framework to work with DLS, only real
astronomical code that is planned, will know within a week. Logging is
integrated with framework, resource consumer integration next week, Steve
looking at Portal Integration. August schedules are the big challenge.

Cristina/Tim will run DC1 telecon next week.

FY07 Budget - Impacts from rest of project may force re-allocation of
private dollars, require spread of NSF dollars more ³thinly². Try to
curtail travel/vacation during remaining critical proposal/DC1 period
between now and end of FY06 (already scheduled vacations are grandfathered).
