Tuesday evening - Dinner
Wed - Thur  -  Breakouts
40 rooms available at SLAC guest house on Mon/Tue, lots of room Wed night on

DB - Status on input to MREFC proposal
Received drafts from 3 contributors: Victor, Kirk, Jeff
Chuck will have draft by end of next week, could use help
Sidney has written narrative, preliminary tables, waiting until Camera input is in, send all at once
Science section is still open, simulator is moving forward but still has problems
So far just assembling, editorial changes, adding sub-headings
Lots of problems with images, will deal with those directly with authors
No big surprises or shocks so far
DS will be in Tucson all next week starting Monday, meet with DB on Tuesday, 10am
DS has asked Ted Lavine to take over Thomas Frey’s position after January.  Another person will backfill Ted at SLAC.
DS need to define Configuration Control process as next step.

DS – Funding
We have 6 of 7 letters of commitment for funding from Universities.  Research Corp meeting Wed. to address their contributions.  Expecting final 2.9M of 7M in “university plan”.

CC – Cadence/Survey Meeting on 9/17
Met with 6 of science collab chairs plus those involved in cadence simulator.  Steve Chesley, chair of solar system collab pointed out that NEA sequence would not work.  Fields not contiguous (avg angular motion on sky of NEA is 0.5 – 1 degree/day), after 5 days, NEA will be in a different field. Moving towards more universal cadence for deep wide survey, and comes back same area every 5 – 6 days.  Now also need to have it come back in 15 - 30 minutes.  Now testing this in simulator.  Schedule for completion of simulations 20061006 (output is flat file), science collabs will analyze,  then ZI, SK, TT will assemble into draft of science sections by 20061015.

KC - Code changes needed in simulator to accommodate new proposal.
Francisco is testing modified deep wide proposal now.  Had some database corruptions, trying to figure out how it happened.  Some parameters that can shorten 10 year simulation in 6 days (down from more than 1 day/year).

VK – T&S
Main activity is MREFC draft.  Still need to spend time with Thomas on cleaning up Volume 2, schedules especially, making sure BOE is complete, documents posted in archive, etc.  With University funding plan in place, now moving from old mirror contract to new contract.  Test tower review could be done by next week depending on Mirror Lab.  Expecting casting to start August, 2007.

JK – DM
DC1 has now executed enough to include in MREFC proposal, but we will keep executing larger runs.  Results will be in MREFC proposal in next revision.
R&D Plan is ready to submit, we will need additional algorithm workers, hope to enlist Science Collaborations and Chilean Astron/CS communities.
Meetings coming up in October regarding association pipeline, database schema, algorithms.
Starting on Commissioning section of proposal.

KG – Camera
Lots of work, as reported in Camera meeting.  Breakout sessions were very useful, especially guider, simulations.  Presentations are posted in archive.

TF/TL – Volume 2/Cost Controls
TF – Need to revisit schedule and clean up.  Need to start looking at cost profiles to see if they are spread reasonably.  For example, we are showing $80m in first 2 years, not good.  Working to train Linda, Shannon, Ted in ancticipation of departure after January.  TF will be in Tucson for next 4 –5 weeks.
TL – This applies to Camera development phase as well.
