That was a good read, thank you.

In a brief attempt to further educate myself on the matter, I was going to go ahead and read one of the papers linked from that article: "Distinguishing Polemic From Commentary in Science: Some Guidelines Illustrated With the Case of Sage and Burgio (2017)". But when I least expected it, I was greeted with the marvelous price tag of $50. So much for distinguishing polemic from commentary in science.

Have we already lost the fight on opening research paid with my taxpayer money to the public, or are we getting there?

This article has a diagram of where 5g is in the electromagnetic spectrum (along with some of the reasons why the general consensus is that that's safe): https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/16/science/5g-cellphones-wireless-cancer.html <https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/16/science/5g-cellphones-wireless-cancer.html>

That makes sense, thank you. What isn't yet very clear to me is the
absolute scale of things. Where on that radiation scale would a
deployment of 5g lie at, what magnitudes are considered harmful by
recent research, and who backed that research?

I cannot navigate these papers without getting lost, but hopefully
    you
    can share your insights.

    Thank you,
