Definitely Mike,
The text ones will be retained at any cost. The only difference will be
that a new parser will create an HTML/XML file and put the formatted
output in the same directory(s) along with the output.
New format can also have some features like:
1) Background highlighting for WARNINGS,
2) Background highlighting for FAIL,
3) Background highlighting for BROK,
4) Sorted testcase(s) for FAILED output,
5) Serial No.s in which tests were executed, etc

You can also suggest ways that you think can add more value.
