Ah, OK found the thread, but I don't think in this case the autotools provides anything which cannot be done using plain Makefiles. It's just that pulling in the whole autotools mess (sorry, I've learned to hate autoconf & co) seemed to me rather heavyweight just for detecting 2 mutexes features.
