if TST_TOTAL is wrong, then i think everywhere possible we should whining 
about it.  then fixing up tests will be easy and it'll be harder for people to 
submit new tests with the value being wrong.

feel like submitting a patch (including your original change to tst_brk) that 
does these things ?  it's ok to say no btw :)

if the things in use are broken (web archives / e-mail clients), then just use 
one that doesnt suck ?  gmane.org should work fine afaik.  open source 
processes shouldnt be hindered by such issues.
