Hello all,

Problem:
Cannot connect to the DHCP server. Receiving the following error message:
"TX Timeout!"
"<sleep>"

My setup:
        Hardware:
Using a diskless IBM PC 300GL w/16MB ram
disklessworkstations Linksys LNE 100TX nic (Tulip ADMtek AN985 chipset)
        3com office connect e-net hub

        Software:
        lts_core-2.0.8-0.i386.rpm
        lts_kernel_tulip-2.2.0.i386.rpm
        Red Hat 7.1

Diagnosis so far:

I've verified that the hub and cables are working properly. I am seeing no
network activity using tcpdump. dhcpd is running on the server and the
necessary ltsp configuration files are configured properly as far as I can
tell. According to another post I read, the "<sleep>" messages indicate a
dhcp configuration problem, but the "TX Timeout!" indicates the nic is having
trouble sending the dhcp broadcast packets. The nic card is working because I
get the following at boot:
"Bootrom v1.6
"Etherboot/32 version......
"Found ADMTek......
"Probing.....xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
"Searching for server (DHCP)....."

And like I said the cables and hub are good.

Any ideas?

cheers,
Tim
