One could dedicate an extra thin client to be permanently logged in and have StarOffice loaded! Its X-screen could be locked! Just a thought ;-) Why don't you replace the monolithic StarOffice with the modular KOffice! The latest versions are quite good at importing third-party formatted files! Don't take my word for it! Have an indepth look at the documentation about *filters* at http://www.koffice.org and convince yourself! > Netscape isn't as good at that, probably due to the amount of memory > needed for data. > Right, Netscape! Another monolithic! Why don't you give Opera for Linux a try at http://www.opera.com ? You'll just love its speed! Basically it's free, but it'll cost you to get rid of the banner ads. Alternatively, there is also the revamped Konqueror for KDE 2 which is purely Open Source. What I especially like about both packages is that they restrict themselves to browsing. Period. They don't try to be a browser, an emailer, an addressbook and a wysiwig HTML editor at the same time.
