That's fine, but 3.0 is different.  If it is a PCI network card, it will 
be automatically detected.
In 3.0.0, if it is an ISA card, you have to specify the NIC module to load.

So, what did you put in your dhcpd.conf file to specify the network card ?

For more information about this, either take a look at the CHANGELOG.txt 
file
for Release 3.0, or take a look at the LTSP 3.0.0 documentation.  Near 
the end is a section
of DHCP and what changes you will need to make for ISA network cards and 
what to
do if you are running Mandrake, which uses ISC dhcp 3.0
