Hi Tom,
What you are thinking of is exactly what we are doing here in Portland, OR. I
would also be interested in that information. Check out www.freegeek.org for
more information on what we are doing. LTSP is a new project for us, and
going to be very successfull. The biggest challenge when working with
refurbished systems is getting some consistency in components. It really
helps to starndardize on a couple of nics, and video cards. Fortunatly for
us, we have a large operation, and I can pick and choose the cards that I
need. (3c509 nics, and ATI video)
Suprisingly, monitors are plentifull in recycling programs. You should have
no problem getting all the 17" that you need.
I have a fairly detailed business plan that I would be happy to share with
you if you want more information. Just let me know.
