Jan,

I strongly recommend running it as a server based app.

We run StarOffice that way, it really runs great.

Running it as a local app, I think you'd see a ton of
NFS traffic when you go to load the app, and it already
loads very slowly, imagine loading across the network.

As a test, try launching OpenOffice on a workstation, and
notice how long it takes to start up.

Then, go to a second workstation and launch it.  It should
snap right onto the screen, very quickly.
