I'm sure that that there is a need for this, but -to me surprisingly -
search and search as I might, I haven't managed to turn up a ready-made
solution.
What I would like is that when a terminal is turned on, it will
automatically log in and authenticate as a particular user, without any
keyboard input at all, according to either the MAC or IP of the terminal. I
had found "alogin", which looks like it will do this for serial terminals,
but haven't managed to find an ethernet equivalent. I cannot find any PAM
modules which will do this either.
Anyone out there able to help with this ?
