Hello, I have a couple of Dell Dimension L500r computers with bios revision A14 (most recent for this machine). I have a bootable PCI network card in them, but they do not find it. I have disabled the floppy, hard drives, etc. in the bios. There is no "network" option in the boot preferences. We actually talked to Dell. Their support said that he was looking at a bios simulator and there was a network boot option.
Has anybody seen this? The message I get is Invalid boot diskette Insert boot diskette in A: The floppy drive and floppy controller are completely disabled in the bios and physically unplugged from the mother board. I have tried moving the card to different slots, disabling PNP, hooking up the Wake On Lan cable, etc. same message. The mother board in these things is VERY basic. The only jumper on the whole board is the one to clear the bios password. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
