Help !
We have an ASUS TUSI-M motherboard with a SiS900 Network Interface.
We are using PXE to load Etherboot to load the ltsp3.0 supplied kermel.
After the usual hastles with DHCP etc, we have PXE running and loading
Etherboot. They are both finding and driving the SiS900 OK.
They report its MAC and give its IOADDR as 0XD400.
But the kernel panics.
It initially detects the card and insmods the sis900.o module which
then errors:
PCI found IRQ 10 for devie 00:01.1
eth0: No MII transceiver found!
insmod:init_module:sis900:No such device
The kernel then panics and tells us to check option 129.
We have tried the dchp.conf both with and without 128
and 129 options. (I assume that we should not really need
these options as Etherboot works OK without them).
The option-129 that we did try was: "NIC=SIS900 IO=0xD400"
The server is linux RH7.2 and the kernel we are loading is
vmlinux-2.4.9-ltsp-5
The etherboot code which works is very new (and is I believe
a fix for a previous version which did not work with PXE)
Is it possible that whatever was done to the Etherboot
driver should also be done to the kernel module?
Any suggestions?
