Question,

Has anyone tried LTSP 3.0 with Lycoris? It doesn't appear to be
listed...but I plan on evaluating it because I'm hearing great things
about this as a Desktop OS. I'm hearing that it appears to be very well
refined like Caldera's desktop versions..

The only desktop-oriented distrobutions I've seen that appear to work
flawlessly (presuming all compatible hardware) were Corel and Caldera.

Lycoris appears to be based on Caldera (perhaps without the reputation
of being dangerously proprietary?) My younger brother has installed it as
his first ever Linux OS and says everything works great--MP3s, Browsing,
PDF Files, and StarOffice word processing--but he likes KWord
better.. His needs are simple.. He says it works just like his other
computer with Windows XP on it. Then he installed it for my mother, who
also likes it. Her previous system was eaten up with viruses and she said
she doesn't want that ever to happen again. My younger brother isn't
computer literate much at all and my mother is about at the level of a
typical office worker (she's getting old but has taken college courses to
keep herself up-to-date, somewhat).
