You are almost there.
Do you have NFS installed on the server? I ask this because you say the workstation
hangs when trying to mount.
If you do, then check for an entry in /etc/exports that looks something like this:
/opt/ltsp/i386 192.168.0/255.255.255.0 (ro,no_root_squash)
Also check /etc/hosts.allow
And check etc/hosts and make sure your workstation has an entry.
