I came across these symptoms last week. Make sure you don't have more than
one dhcp *server* answering requests.

I ended up with a 'normal' dhcp server and my ltsp configured dhcp server
both running at the same time. The normal server would answer first most
of the time. As it didn't give out the correct info, the client looked for
the default /tftpboot/kernel.

Took a while to figure this one out. =)
