Hi, I'm shure that if you make shure to be on half duplex and 10 MBit your switch will be working. Someone else on this list had a similar problem and changing drivers for the NIC worked for him.
On the theoretical side. I'm using Linksys switches for portable solutions and quidte often have a problem. They seem very sensible for long distances (> 30m) and cable interference and once they are "deranged" you need to unplug the power and reconnect al cables to get a trustworthy connection. I often need to put a hub (10MBit/Half Duplex) inbetween to lower the connection speed. This may also be a test for you. Put the switch after the hub and see if it works. I think it will work. I am using Etherboot 5.0.5, for someone who asked. I will go and try to get a D-Link switch if I can this afternoon. Both NIC's are Linksys LNE100TX cards, so I know they work fine. I have now verified this problem on four Linksys 5-port switches and a Netgear 5-port switch. Gah, this is really frustrating! Just for my info, what model switches is everyone using? I will keep buying & returning them until I get one to work! Thanks again, Glenn _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
