I'm using winbind to authenticate my users and I've discovered I have
problems with duplicate home directories if they log in with differently
cased versions of their user id (/home/Juser, /home/juser).

My quick fix is to check case in /etc/X11/gdm/PreSession/Default and
"exit 1" if it's not lower case. It almost works. In fact, it does
work from the console, but from a thin client, I get a big black "X"
when it tries to repaint the gdm login box.

Messages in /var/log/messages say:

Apr 30 12:10:27 thinserver1 gdm[11980]: gdm_slave_session_start:
Execution of PreSession script returned > 0. Aborting.
Apr 30 12:10:27 thinserver1 gdm(pam_unix)[11980]: session closed for
user Ccoy
Apr 30 12:10:41 thinserver1 gdm[12007]: Display :0 is busy, there is
another X server already running
Apr 30 12:10:41 thinserver1 gdm[12007]: Sleeping 30 seconds before
retrying display :0

Does anybody know how to fix this? Many thanks,
Carrie Coy
