I have one workstation running LTSP on RedHat 7.3. The ws is an old Parkard-Bell pentium 120, 48 Mb RAM and no local apps. The video in the motherboard was only 512Kb and would only let me run at 800 x 600. I found a 2Mb S3 Virge/DX PCI video card. Installed card, motherboard recognized it okay, but XF86_SVGA driver refused and stopped at "Fatal server error: Dotclock Experted" .
Changed to XF86_S3V driver, same thing. Went back to original motherboard video of 512 Kb (with XF86-SVGA driver) and that now refuses to work. I am still getting the "Dotclock expected" crash notice. I have tried all suggestions in the LTSP manual and they all test okay. (Well, except for the ipchains, but it said that same "not compatible with this kernel" before and worked fine then.) Help me please! I will be glad to send whatever info is needed! _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas -- http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm _____________________________________________________________________ Ltsp-discuss mailing list.
