I'm a relatively new user to LTSP and definitely not an expert with XFree86, but I have managed to successfully install and use both on a simple two computer network (server and LTSP client) at home.
My question concerns the LTSP x-core files. Do I have to use the LTSP version of these files to use XFree86 on my LTSP client? Right now, I have two versions of XFree86 on my computer: an older 3.3.6 version which I use when logged into the server console and 4.1.0 version (from LTSP 3.0) to serve the client. Is this right? or do I just have certain files and libraries from 4.1.0? Is some form of consolidation possible? What would be the preferred method if I wanted to upgrade one or both to version 4.2.0? Although I haven't tried yet, will the use of an X Font Server allow me to keep a single copy of the X Fonts? Thanks, Joe __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
