What are the hangups with LDAP so far?

The "need" for the special daemon was to get rid of the window that Xorfb
has and introduce the command line options (am I right here) so I don't
understand how you would get this to work "seamlessly" without hacking up
the original a little bit. I see it as retreading an old wheel ;-).
