|Subject: [Ltsp-discuss] Bandwidth Usage - limits of 100mbit?
|
|Bandwidth Usage - what's the the most demanding thing I can do with with
|100mbit (200mbit full duplex) network?
Full duplex means you can have simultaneous input and output streams but
both at 100 Mbps, you can never have 200 Mbps one-way throughput.
| I -think- this translates to 12mb/sec
|but we only get <4mb/sec for whatever reason.
This is not far from normal, even though I'd expect something around 6 Mbps
on an NFS NIT-to-NIC connection. How did you measure that transmission speed?
How is the network configured, what data transfer protocol di dyou use, how
many files did you transmit, how big? All of these things do make a difference.
Cannot help you with the other questions.
