Hello, all.

I am running on Mandrake 8.1 with dhcp 3.0b2pl9, and on the client end I
have a 3c509 ISA Ethernet adaptor.

Attached (sorry, I can't seem to get it to paste to this window) is my
dhcpd.conf..

My problems are that the (currently commented out) ddns-update-style
produces the error:

/etc/dhcpd.conf line 1; semicolon expected.
ddns-update-style              none;
                               ^

When I comment that out it seems to work fine until on the client:

-snipsnip-
Running /linuxrc
Mounting /proc

ERROR! Could not automatically detect the network card.
PCI cards should be detected automatically.
ISA cards cannot be detected, so they require
the nic driver to be specified in a 'NIC=' parameter
-snipsnip-

Kernal panic: Attempted to kill init!

I though I had configured this but it seems not to work.

If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
