Ronald, You probably need to set 'DISABLED_ACCESS_CONTROL = Y' in the lts.conf file.
I think that the workstation doesn't have access to the display, because it is being managed by the display manager. disabling access control will allow you (or anyone) to use the display. It's not terribly secure this way. I really need to spend some time looking into X authentication, but just haven't had the chance.
