Survey) Any software that runs under Linux can run under LTSP. 1) You will need to load a USB module. The example in the LTSP docs (for using a USB printer on a ThinkNIC) shows adding "MODULE_01 = usb-ohci" to the ltp.conf. There are two types of USB. Which one you use depends on your hardware. I am running USB floppy drives on ThinkNICs and they work fine but I did find that they didn't work if I had USB keyboard enabled in the BIOS.... don't ask me why. BTW - ThinkNICs do come with CD-ROM drives and a small (4Mb) IDE disk on a chip.
2-4) Don't know, but there is a Web-cam package for LTSP. 5) OpenOffice works great for me. Reads and writes MS Word docs just fine. I use it in a public library and users seem to have no trouble figuering how to use it... and that is with zero instruction. 6-7) Don't know. 8) I have run both Yahoo and AIM. Work fine if you like that kind of stuff. :-) Hope this was helpful. Pete -- http://www.elbnet.com ELB Internet Service, Inc.
