Hi Anselm,
  
Please forgive my misconception of how a diskless workstation is expected
to function.  I appreciate you taking the time to set me straight.  I
made the appropriate setting as you suggested and now the only option
available to the workstation is "logon as another user" which it does
fine without disturbing the server.
