Hello,

I believe I have correctly installed the latest ltsp_core and
ltsp_kernel packages on my Mandrake 8.2 server. I used the rpm versions
however rpm -q ltsp_core-3.0.0-0.i386.rpm returns a message stating that
package is not installed. Same for the kernel. I have tried to rpm
--initdb and rpm --rebuilddb but still get the same behavior.

The files from the two packages appeared to be installed. I have worked
my way to the point where my client will begin to boot. I am using a
relatively slow processor on the client, so I am able to watch the boot
messages. The client gets an address okay, it mounts my exported ltsp
directory okay There are no errors, warnings, or otherwise ominous
texts. Then the client hangs with the message

Starting syslogd

When I examine /var/log/messages on my server (not in /opt/ltsp) I
have...

locate start_ws and find start_ws on my server yield no results. I have
been unable to to a search in the mailing list archives, so I'm writing
to the mailing list.

Thanks in advance if you can help.
