IT is very easy to do. Just download and examine the packages to find out what you 
want. LTSP is more or less just a config script( that makes life easier) for tftp,X, 
and dhcp with the the ltsp_core package providing a small root file system and kernel. 
That is how i do it on my slack box and how i  do it on my LFS rigs.
