Not wanting to start a disty war, but SuSE from v8 onwards is LSB compliant. LSB was created for all the best reasons, and not implementing (and developing) LSB compliancy is going to lead to the same fractious mess that gave MS the edge over Unix, despite a massively inferior product.
-----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: LTSP discussion list Sent: 1/28/03 3:50 PM Subject: RE: [Ltsp-discuss] United Linux support for ltsp? There is a file /etc/SuSE-release that contains a version number. The LTSP setup checks the contents of that file to determine whether the platform at hand is supported or not. You could try forcing LTSP into believing that your platform is supported by temporarily changing the version in /etc/SuSE-release to i.e. 8.0 which is already supported. Mind you that this workaround doesn't account for any organizational changes that SuSE may have performed to become *United*. They are very notorious for doing things in ways nobody else does them. Don't forget to undo your changes in /etc/SuSE-release once LTSP is installed.
