Yes, it is possible, the single logon also.

Some notes

- my server runs SuSE-8.1 (thus kdm) with ltsp 3.

- installed win2k-server in a vmware-box.
  (First I tried to install it in bochs, but after 2 hours
  watching a very slow win2k installation, I switched to
  vmware. Total installation was less than 30 mins)

- installed rdesktop-1.2.0

- in /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc changed the line
  SessionType=icewm,kde,gnome
  into
  SessionType=icewm,kde,gnome,wts
  The wts (the windows terminal, you guessed it) option now
  shows up in the kdm login screen.

- created a very small and unfinished startup-script
  /usr/X11R6/bin/wts
  containing
  #!/bin/sh
  /usr/local/bin/rdesktop -f -u johan -p secret 172.16.92.133

- started up a client (pentium 90Mhz, 32MB), logged in with
  the wts option.

- rdesktop starts, with the win2k logon screen (hmm, a
  second login, not what I wanted)

- On the server, in the win2k-server-vmware box, as roo..
  Administrator -> Terminal Services Configuration ->
  RDP-tcp -> properties -> Logon Settings
  There's an option 'always prompt for password',
  deselect it.
  Now when you disconnect the client and login again,
  the rdesktop goes straight to the users environment.

Some remarks

- the wts startup script is far from finished, should map
  linux usernames to win2k usernames/passwords, should be
  secure, no passwords on commandline, etc.

- the win2k environment in vmware looks and feels much slower
  than the win2k env in rdesktop on client (and server too).

- naturally wts/rdesktop can be used to start win2k in a
  separate window in your favorite wm also.

- for a proof of concept this setup worked fine, as it might
  not be completely compliant with ms licensing, i've removed
  and erased the vmware box.
