You could even go without any extra partition and I would recommend so if lilo is installed already in MBR. If you really need, AFAIK you could simply copy the floppie's first 32k or so (just take 128k to be sure) onto the harddisk partition like in dd if=/dev/fd0 of=/dev/hda4 ( DO NOT DO THIS IF NOT ABSOLUTELY SURE WHAT YOU ARE DOING! ELSE YOU ARE GOING TO DO WIPE A PARTITION !!!! ) To be clear: I prefer etherboot to be started as explained below. That's what the lzlilo format is made for. FM> I guess I cannot simply dd the floppy contents on FM> this /boot partition !!! Then say lilo to update FM> the MBR !?!? You visit Rom-O-Matic.NET and retrieve an etherboot 5.0.8 image in output format lzlilo. Store it as /boot/eb508.lzlilo. Add an additional boot opportunity to /etc/lilo.conf, like this one: image=/boot/eb508.lzlilo label=Etherboot Then call "lilo" to update it (I assume you have it yet installed and in daily usage). DONE. FM> Any hint, idea or solution ? If it doesn't work out (hey, that's from memory....) don't hesistate to ask me. Best regards, Anselm mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
