Hallvard,
        you are probably using wrong kernel. see the pxe stuff on ltsp
site. here is what you can do in the /etc/dhcpd.conf:
# trick from Pet  Rundle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
     if substring (option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 9) = "PXEClient"
     {
        filename      "/lts/pxe/pxelinux.bin";
    # NOTE: kernels are specified in /tftpboot/lts/pxe/pxelinux.cfg/
     }
     else
     {
        filename    "/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.9-ltsp";
     }
