Hi, people... I'm new to all this linux movement. I've been watching it
closely for a big while, and i decided this was the time to jump in (with
such an interesting challenge as diskless workstations).. I downloaded k12ltsp,
installed and after a few tweaking (well, that if you call about 8 hours
a few hehe) I have a machine booting from the server :).. and i'm quite
happy i made it. I'm just impressed about this package and Linux in general.
Startint to love it already :)
The thing is that i have now one question. I wonder if it's possible to
kinda transfer a session. That is, suppose I'm working on diskless workstation
A. Then I have some work done but want to present it to my boss. Can I
"freeze" the session somehow and then login in my boss' workstation and
see what i'm working on??.. Because everytime i logout everything is closed.
I think it would be like keeping every session in the memory of the server
until it's power cycled. Is it possible?? I think it would be soooo cool
to have that feature. Because you could also leave your work at half and
then go to lunch for example (or for the entire weekend out of the office)
and return to see the desktop exactly how you left it (and the diskless
workstation was off all the time) Of course, hoping nobody power cycled
the server (well, it's a server, RIGHT!! SO DON'T TURN IT OFF, MAN!! hehe
)
