KK, Sorry I did not follow your earlier mails but why do you want to do shutdown / restart?? Just switching off the WS is enough for a shutdown. There is a option "Alt"+"E" in the log in screen that can be used for a quick reset. If you want to shutdown remotely.....interesting thought.....needs to be worked upon. IAC the terminal users can shutdown server machine only if they are authorized. See Login setups for this in Gnome or KDE. I have used this to restrict server shutdown by needing password.
