Hi all,
I have a very strange error, all the workstations at one of my sites
hang while downloading the kernel from tftp. They always stop exactly on
the third dot.
A few do download the kernel, then hang after running dhclient,
complaining that either there was no response from dhcp, or the NIC
driver does not work well with the card.

The server in question, was working perfectly in my office three days
ago.
I have one intel ether-express pro 100 with a bootrom on site, that
fails to find dhcp in the first place.
A realtek 8139 with a bootrom, thats the one that downloads the kernel,
then hangs.

The others are all 3com cards, with boot-floppies (lsdisk). The machines
also have on-board e100 cards, using boot disks for EITHER card, hangs
on the third dot from tftp.
I tried different workstations as well (without on-boards) no luck.

Any idea whats going on here ? A quick check confirms that DHCP is
running on bond0.
The switch btw. shows connect status but no traffic, pretty much ever.
Sometimes, you can ping the server from a laptop on the same switch,
sometimes not.

There is NO firewalling software on the server. I cannot imagine network
card failure, because of the bonding, if any of the four cards in the
server was still active, it should have worked.

Any ideas ?
