I have the following problem:
I get the "greyscreen with large X cursor" and
"
(EE) MGA(0): static buffer allocation failed, not initializing the DRI
(EE) MGA(0): Need at least 5184 kB video memory at this resolution, bit
depth succeede
Warning: font renderer for ".pfa" registered more than once
Warning: font renderer for ".pfb" registered more than once
XDM too many retransmissions

I have tried using /tmp/start_ws with runlevel 3 and directly runlevel
5. I also have tried XSERVER as mga with the same results.
The workstation has 80 megabytes of RAM and the video card is a Matrox.
It is attached to Olivetti DSM 51-151 monitor. I don't have manual for
it.
The computer is old Digital 6200 GL.
I simply can't figure it out. It obviously has something to do with the
XFree86 configuration.
